U.S. President-elect Trump announced on his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday that he has nominated economist and former advisor Stephen Miran to serve as the chair of the Economic Advisory Council. The council will provide advice on economic policy and strategy to the executive branch.

Miran previously served as a senior economic advisor at the Treasury Department during Trump's first term. He recently stated on a Bitcoin-related podcast (The Bitcoin Layer) that the U.S. should focus on policies that support innovation and told the host:

I believe that easing financial regulation will be a significant part of it. I think cryptocurrency could play an important role in innovation and lead to another economic boom under the Trump administration.

Appointing Bo Hines to lead the President's Digital Asset Advisory Council

Additionally, Trump announced the appointment of former football player Bo Hines as the new Executive Director of the advisory body 'Crypto Council'. Hines ran for the Republican nomination for North Carolina's House of Representatives in 2022 but lost to Democrat Wiley Nickel.

Bo Hines will serve as the Executive Director of the President's Digital Asset Advisory Council ('Crypto Council'), a new advisory group made up of prominent figures from the cryptocurrency industry, chaired by our crypto czar David Sacks. Trump stated in an article on Monday, 'Bo will work with David to promote innovation and growth in the digital asset space while ensuring that industry leaders have the resources they need to succeed. They will work together to create an environment where the industry can thrive and continue to be the cornerstone of national technological advancement.'

Trump appointed David Sacks as the White House's first 'AI and Crypto Czar' in early December, responsible for guiding U.S. policy and regulatory matters in AI and cryptocurrency.

On Monday, Trump also announced the appointment of former partner at venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Sriram Krishnan, as a senior AI policy advisor in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Krishnan responded to his appointment on social media platform X: 'I am honored to serve our country and work closely with David Sacks to ensure continued American leadership in AI.'

我很榮幸能夠為我們的國家服務,並與 @DavidSacks 緊密合作,確保美國在 AI 領域的持續領導地位。感謝 @realDonaldTrump 給予的機會。
