2014-2017年间，比特币社区经历了一场持续多年的大大小小的区块争论，国内矿工与交易所，以及比特币原教旨主义者之间展开了一场生死之争。最终，大区块阵营溃败，分裂出BCH和BSV。国内矿工也因此被贴上了“矿霸”的标签。

小区块派的领军人物是Adam Back和Greg Maxwell，后来他们创建了Blockstream，专注于比特币侧链Liquid Network的开发。

因此，一直以来在社区中存在着一种阴谋论，认为Blockstream为了推动自己的侧链，不惜引发比特币网络分裂，支持小区块，反对比特币扩容，以推动Liquid Network的发展。

虽然有这些阴谋论，但多年来，对比大区块分叉链的发展来看，小区块主义者似乎更具有先见之明。

新一轮的大区块运动

2023年，在国内散户和交易所的推动下，以铭文为媒介，发起了新一轮的“大区块主义”运动。铭文问题的核心仍然是比特币的扩容，本质上仍然是大区块与小区块的争论。
铭文当然是由市场需求驱动的，但比特币毕竟是一个小容量的容器，铭文就像在杯子里玩龙卷风，硬塞必然导致正常交易受到挤压。我曾经也是大区块主义者，相信技术应该满足最广泛大众的需求，但后来我完全和解了。

比特币是一种宗教和价值储存，需要极度的保守和百年不变；而以太坊则是一种进步主义，需要不断更新和快速迭代。

我们无需在两者之间进行二选一，各取所爱。喜欢热闹和创新的人可以前往以太坊或者侧链玩耍，而让比特币成为安静的价值储存是否不好呢？大区块与小区块涉及到比特币的定位和扩容问题，不仅是技术路线的争论，本质上还是关于对“比特币是什么”这个认知的争论。

如果比特币选择了大规模的科技主义扩容，以满足所有使用者的需求，那就必须进行无限扩容，不仅仅是像铭文这样的资产。在13-15年间，有许多项目试图直接在比特币上实现智能合约功能。

这样一来，比特币的定位就变成了通用的智能合约平台和资产平台。实际情况是，即使是以太坊这样灵活的架构，也很难实现这样的扩容。如果不放弃比特币其他核心目标，技术上是无法实现的。

大区块主义的推动，走一步算一步，是冒进和投机主义的表现。头疼医头，脚痛医脚，根本无法巩固比特币的底层。作为资产平台，比特币可以不像以太坊那样灵活，同样，作为价值资产，你不能过于冒进。

因此，不是比特币没有星辰大海的梦想，而是在过去十年的尝试中，技术和叙事上找到了自己的最大公约数，也顺便“解决”了扩容问题。

比特币是如何解决扩容问题的？

比特币的解决方法是调整叙事，将其塑造成“数字黄金”和非主权货币。在这个叙事下，扩容变成了伪命题，将扩容难题交给以太坊等其他项目去解决。
在“数字黄金”的叙事下，每年实体黄金的物理周转仅占库存的1%不到，作为价值储存的比特币，主链上并不需要高频交易，因此tps和扩容根本不是问题。

实际上，以太坊解决扩容问题的方式也是异曲同工的，将主网转变为结算网络（昂贵、缓慢、稳定），然后让Layer 2真正解决扩容和tps的难题。

但问题也随之而来，比特币没有高tps和链上交易，那么从哪里来的高额手续费呢？没有高额手续费，比特币在2140年挖完后，网络安全如何保证？这个核心问题是大区块主义者强烈推动无限扩容的最根本逻辑问题。

说实话，这确实是比特币的一个困扰，目前还没有解决方案。然而，考虑到比特币在未来几十年内可能达到100万亿美元的市值，我相信这将迫使各方形成新的代币模型和共识，解决“手续费”问题。

小区块主义者虽然无法回答“区块奖励结束后，低容量比特币的低手续费无法维持网络安全”的核心问题，但大区块主义的扩容主张显然是对比特币核心价值直接破坏的。

无限扩容意味着不断的变革和引入技术风险，最终可能导致庞大、低效、节点集中、技术风险极高，这都是对比特币作为数字黄金、安全性和永久价值储存核心定位的致命打击。

小区块和大区块如何选择？

小区块和大区块，两者权衡，采取其中较轻的一方。我认为小区块主义在逻辑上更为自洽，将“手续费”问题留给未来几十年后的持币人；而大区块主义推动的更新式扩容，所带来的负面影响则是即时的。

作为持币人，比特币生态的热闹当然是好的，但比特币不可能满足所有人的需求；技术和欲望之间的平衡可能是持币人、投资者、矿工、交易所等都需要考虑的问题。

在没有一个稳定、不变的技术底层的情况下，比特币无法成为最终的价值储存，高手续费也只是短暂的幻觉。

铭文问题只是大区块和小区块路线之争中的一个小插曲，也许有技术替代方案可以在这两个阵营之间找到最大公约数。也许应该三思而后行，再次分叉可能只会让一切变得更加混乱。
