Golden Finance reported that Spanish crypto fintech startup Atani announced the completion of a new round of financing of $6 million, led by Mexican venture capital fund Cometa, and participated in some Web3 business leaders in institutions such as JME Ventures, Conexo Ventures, CDTI, and SoftBank Europe. Founded in 2019, Atani is currently authorized by the Bank of Spain as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP), providing cryptocurrency transaction routing and price comparison services to help users get the best trading prices, as well as portfolio management tools, cross-exchange and wallet account monitoring, price alerts, and automated reporting.

Standard Chartered's $SC $ Ventures and Deutsche Bank said they have completed the first proof-of-concept (PoC) for the Universal Digital Payment Network (UDPN), Golden Finance reported. It aims to connect payments from various CBDC and blockchain networks via messaging (similar to Swift). Unlike Swift, financial institutions exchange information through a permissible blockchain. Banks are willing to participate because the network only supports regulated tokens and uses decentralized identities to enforce compliance.
During the trial, Standard Chartered's SC Ventures transferred and exchanged synthetic $USDC$ and $EURS$ (Stasis Euro stablecoins) to Deutsche Bank wallet in real time several times. SC Ventures uses code that leverages the UDPN SDK and API, while Deutsche Bank uses a graphical user interface.

Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis dismissed reports and analyses circulating in the media that exaggerate the role of cryptocurrencies in terrorist financing. Chainalysis noted that terrorist financing accounts for only a small percentage of illicit cryptocurrency transactions. Terrorist organizations have historically used traditional legal-based methods such as financial institutions, hawalas and shell companies as their primary source of financing, and are likely to continue.
Chainalysis stressed that the transparency of blockchain transactions makes it less suitable for terrorists, which is the main reason Hamas stopped accepting $BITCOIN$ donations. This transparency enables law enforcement officers to track the origin and destination of every transaction on the blockchain, a feat that is nearly impossible to accomplish with cash transfers.

A group that identifies itself as "a community of lawyers and developers dedicated to providing open-source legal resources" has made available to the $BITCOIN$ ($BTC$) and other cryptocurrency ecosystem, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool that facilitates the submission of comments against the proposed law currently being handled by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of the United States.

The tool makes it easier for bitcoiners to present their position against the project, completing, initially, a series of items for their qualification and then inserting an explanatory letter, generated by AI, with the arguments that question the government's approaches. The shipment is then done automatically.

The team offering the AI tool is identified as LeXpunK and is dedicated to providing open-source legal and support resources for the crypto sector. Making an analogy with cypherpunks, lexpunks are lawyers, legal technologists, and "legal hackers" who provide regulatory guidance and debate proposals for self-regulation.

In this particular case they have set out to initiate a "Raid on the U.S. Treasury Registry," drawing analogies to war terms in their effort to prevent the bill from passing. For this reason, they describe their working groups as "armies".

The bill is a 300-page document, filed by the IRS last August. It revises the definition of a "cryptocurrency broker" based on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act passed by $JOE$ Biden's administration in 2021. The bill dictates guidelines on tax compliance, both for crypto brokers and exchanges, requiring the delivery of detailed information about crypto asset users.
