PANews reported on January 3 that the South Korean Public Prosecutor's Office held a press conference to introduce the situation regarding the execution of Yoon Seok-youl's arrest warrant. The Prosecutor's Office stated that more than 10 vehicles blocked the road to the presidential residence, located 200 meters in front of it. Over 200 personnel from the Presidential Security Service and military prevented the execution of the arrest warrant. During the process of entering the presidential residence, various degrees of physical conflict occurred. Investigators were unable to confirm whether Yoon Seok-youl was inside the residence.

The ruling party, People Power Party, stated that the arrest was unjust and overstepped; the leader of the largest opposition party called for the arrest of those obstructing the execution. Acting President Choi Sang-mok emphasized the stability of South Korea-U.S. relations and reaffirmed a firm stance on diplomatic and security policies.
