Standard Chartered analyst Kendrick said that cryptocurrency ETFs such as Solana (SOL) and XRP (XRP) could be approved in 2025.

Following the recent approval of Spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETF), Standard Chartered Bank analyst Geoffrey Kendrick says that the next chapter of crypto ETFs may be around the corner in 2025.

For other coins (eg. $SOL , $XRP ) markets will look ahead to their eventual ETF status as well, albeit this is likely a 2025 story not a 2024 one," Kendrick, head of forex and digital assets research at Standard Chartered Bank, said Friday in a statement to The Block.

Ethereum ( $ETH ) Foundation Executive Director Aya Miyaguchi said the organization is accelerating work on a formal policy to address potential conflicts of interest after two of its researchers disclosed receiving “significant” EigenLayer token incentives.

“The Ethereum Foundation’s credible neutrality is critical for us to perform our role in the ecosystem. We are aware of the current conversation about potential conflicts of interest, and share the community’s concerns,” Miyaguchi posted to X on Friday.

Venezuelan Oil company is considering using Crypto for Oil Sales

The Venezuelan state-run oil company “PDVSA”, is considering using Tether (USDT) for oil sales after the oil sanctions return, according to a report from Reuters.

The U.S. Treasury Department last week gave PDVSA’s customers and providers until May 31 to wind down transactions under a general license it did not renew due to a lack of electoral reforms.

The move will make it harder for the country to increase oil production and exports, as companies will have to wait for individual permits from the United States to do business with Venezuela.
