Digital Currency Ban from the US Congress to the Fed

As a result of the vote in the US House of Representatives, the Fed's issuance of digital currency was opposed.

The bill, brought to the agenda by Assembly member Tom Emmer, aims to prevent the US Federal Reserve from issuing central bank digital money (CBDC).

Members of the Republican Party argue that central bank digital money could be used to spy on American citizens.

Members of the Democratic Party argued that such a ban would stifle innovation in the public sector. However, the bill was accepted with the votes of a total of 213 Republican Party and 3 Democratic Party members.

However, it is not yet known how much support the anti-CBDC bill will receive in the Senate.
