Dogecoin and Shiba Inu Prices Soared After Dog Died

The dog named Kabosu, who inspired many dog-themed memecoins, died overnight.

The death of 17-year-old popular dog Kabosu was announced by his owner. “We will be holding a farewell party for Kabo-chan on Sunday, May 26,” the blog post said.

Kabosu's now-meme face inspired Dogecoin (DOGE). After DOGE, memecoins such as Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Floki (FLOKI) were also launched.

The price of these memecoins suddenly started to rise after Kabosu's death was announced. According to TradingView data, DOGE price rose to $0.169 in the morning hours. DOGE gained 7.88% during the week.
