10 Months In Prison For Leaking Confidential Documents

According to Odaily, Christen Ager-Hanssen, the former CEO of nChain, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison by the UK High Court on May 3rd for leaking confidential documents related to Craig Wright. The court found Ager-Hanssen guilty of violating several court orders, including the removal of leaked documents, public disclosure of recipients, and surrender of related equipment.

The leaked documents, known as the Fairway Brief, contained false claims of Craig Wright impersonating Satoshi and accused individuals like Calvin Ayre of orchestrating a 'criminal conspiracy' to take over nChain's intellectual property at a low cost. The court viewed Ager-Hanssen's non-compliance with orders as an attempt to undermine the court's authority and nChain's confidentiality requests. Therefore, he was given a combined sentence of 10 months and 4 months, and it is expected that he will be released in five months.

Ager-Hanssen plans to appeal the decision, with support from the UK whistleblowers organization, Whistleblowers UK. The organization has pointed out that the UK whistleblower law is out of sync with justice and has failed to effectively protect whistleblowers.
