Hong Kong's largest online broker Futu Securities International has launched cryptocurrency trading for its 22 million users. Customers will be able to trade BTC and ETH using Hong Kong dollars or US dollars.

In July, the online broker received an updated securities trading license from Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), allowing it to offer virtual asset trading services to both professional and retail clients. In addition, the platform intends to obtain a cryptocurrency exchange license for its new PantherTrade platform, which has preliminary permission to trade virtual assets.

Futu said those who open an account in August this year and make a deposit of $1,280 for the next two months will receive $80 worth of Bitcoin or a $50 voucher to the city's supermarkets. If investors make a deposit of $80,000, they will receive a share of American artificial intelligence (AI) chip manufacturer Nvidia. However, customer fees are waived until further notice.
