Expansion of the Global University Outreach Program

In October 2023, Binance Academy and Blockchain Center announced a collaboration to expand their Global University Outreach Program, aiming to integrate blockchain education into the curricula of over 200 universities across more than 50 countries. The initiative plans to educate over one million students in blockchain engineering and compliance by 2026.

In the long term, the partnership aims to provide specialized training to more than 300 university educators, creating a comprehensive academic knowledge bank. Blockchain Center will oversee the educational and training components of the program, while Binance Academy will contribute to scaling the initiative globally and facilitating guest lectures with industry experts.

The program comprises a 20-week Blockchain Engineering course covering distributed ledger technology, BNB Chain fundamentals, Web3, and Solidity development, and a 13-week Compliance program focusing on the intersection of blockchain and regulatory policy. 

To select participating universities, the Blockchain Center used a methodology considering regional influence, educational infrastructure, the Cryptocurrency Adoption Index, the Frontier Technologies Readiness Index, and the Academic Freedom Index. 

Binance Academy's extensive network will play a crucial role in onboarding new universities. The initiative builds upon the success of its pilot program in Kazakhstan, where 4,000 students have already begun studying blockchain-related subjects.
