The TON Foundation, which took over the project in 2021, is returning to its original vision after its initial coin offering was halted in 2020 due to opposition from the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

EigenLayer, a decentralized Ethereum staking protocol, aims to improve the network’s proof-of-stake consensus and solve existing Ethereum security inefficiencies. The protocol introduces restaking, a process that allows users to generate passive income while enhancing network security. Restaking involves repurposing staked Ethereum to boost security on other protocols, creating a pool of restaked assets for other decentralized applications. Users can participate in EigenLayer’s restaking smart contract through their already staked Ether or a liquid staking token. The protocol also offers an asset management solution, EigenPod, and allows users to withdraw their staking rewards through a partial or full withdrawal process.
