Odaily Planet Daily News: A report from the Financial Services Commission of South Korea shows that in the first half of 2024, the number of cryptocurrency investors in the country reached 7.78 million, an increase of 21% compared to 6.45 million in the second half of 2023. During the same period, the average daily trading volume grew by 67%, rising from 3.6 trillion won to 6 trillion won. Additionally, the total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies in the country grew by 27%, reaching 55.3 trillion won. The operating profit of 21 domestic virtual asset business operators also recorded 590 billion won, an increase of 106% compared to the second half of last year. In terms of detailed information about virtual asset investors, the highest proportion is among men in their 30s, totaling 1.58 million, followed by men in their 40s (1.5 million), men in their 20s and younger (1.08 million), and men in their 50s (850,000). By gender, male investors account for 5.29 million, or 68% of the total. (Korea Daily)
