Long-defunct Bitcoin exchange MT Gox will reportedly start distributing 140,000 Bitcoins and BCH starting next week. "Refunds in the form of Crypto will be made starting in early July 2024," said Nobuaki Kobayashi, Supervisor of the representative who handles the refund process for MT Gox users.

Please note, this announcement is the first time the deputy trustee has mentioned the time for payments using Bitcoin after months of fiat distribution. "We will start payments according to the order of the Cryptocurrency Exchange where the Rehabilitation Trustee will complete the requirements and confirm the necessary information," he explained.

Kraken, Bitstamp, and Gemini are three Exchanges that participate as official distributors. The MT Gox trustee will make one on-chain payment to each Exchange which will then handle the entire distribution to the destination user's account.
