This rush has led to a substantial hike in transaction fees, with the fees for the halving block hitting $2.4 million compared to typical fees of $40,000 to $60,000. Fee Surges and Miner Adaptations The median fee rate, measured in satoshis per byte, soared to 1,805 sats/vByte post-halving from about 100 sats/vByte previously. This dramatic increase means that even medium-priority transactions now cost around $146, with high-priority transactions nearing $170.
