Binance Labs, the venture capital arm and incubator of Binance, has invested in Movement Labs, the first integrated blockchain network that includes the security of movement and parallel execution via a Zero-Knowledge rollup.

Movement Labs will support Sui Move, Aptos Move, and an embedded EVM interpreter MEVM, enabling users of Sui, Aptos, and EVM to leverage Layer 2. This modular approach is an innovative new solution in the field of parallelized virtual machines that remains integrated with Ethereum’s liquidity, security, and ecosystem toolsets. Movement’s Move-EVM allows developers using Move and Solidity to deploy formally verified code at runtime to effectively block common attack vectors such as reentrancy.

Yi He, Co-Founder of Binance and Director of Binance Labs, said: “Movement’s technology and modular approach addresses the need for an integrated blockchain network, unlocking the potential for increased security and speed. Binance Labs is constantly looking for pioneers who are shaping the industry, and we look forward to seeing what Movement will do next.”

Movement Lab is dedicated to integrating Move execution into new networks and environments. The team is also developing the Movement SDK, Movement CLI, Fractal, Hyperlane messaging infrastructure, and Movement Shared Sequencer to provide critical interoperability between all Move-based environments and other networks.

“Movement Labs was founded to address the need for better smart contract security and higher throughput use cases in the cryptocurrency space. Move was designed to enable power-hungry applications like Facebook to run on the blockchain, and we want to integrate it with Ethereum in a crypto-native way. We are excited to partner with Binance Labs to deliver on this mission,” said Rushi Manche, Co-Founder of Movement Labs.

About Movement Labs:

The original builders of the Move ecosystem, Rushi Manche and Brian Scanlon, co-founded Movement Labs in 2022 as the first integrated blockchain network powering Ethereum’s fastest and most secure Layer 2. Designed to combine the security and parallelization of smart contracts with the liquidity and user base of EVM, Movement integrates MoveVM with Ethereum via its flagship Layer 2 product and rollups connected to the Move Stack.
