Regarding options for cross-chain exchanges, some third-party cross-chain bridges like gas.zip or minibridge have a step for ETH to BTC conversion, so they usually won't be cheaper than the 1.5u direct conversion loss; it’s worth trying. (Update) BSC chain USDT payments have resumed, now only 0.5u fee, and it is unlikely to be lower than this.
