Restaking is maturing and slashing is coming to @eigenlayer soon! Congrats to the Eigen team on reaching this milestone, a few updates on how that impacts https://t.co/WT8phhpg35 users:
1/ There is no slashing risk for eETH today. https://t.co/WT8phhpg35 must explicitly opt in to AVS that have slashing enabled
2/ When slashing is enabled, https://t.co/WT8phhpg35 will: a) Engage risk curators for a deep-dive analysis of respective AVS & slashing events b) open a 14-day review period for community feedback c) provide a significant notice period with multiple communication channels
3/ Further slashing mechanics:
- Slashing is not automatic
- Risk is isolated to each operator’s Unique Stake
- Each AVS defines its own slashing logic
4/ Operators who opt into slashing-enabled AVSs will be carefully reviewed and monitored. No protocol-wide exposure — risk is managed and deliberate
5/ New slashing features = more use cases & better rewards. This empowers AVSs, but also makes operator-level risk assessment even more critical
6/ Chaos Labs is analyzing the upcoming changes to help strengthen the https://t.co/WT8phhpg35 restaking ecosystem with smart risk controls and better operator design
