I was having dinner at my sister's the other day and at some point, my brother-in-law and I were talking about crypto when Sara, my 13 year old niece suddenly asked, what is #cryptocurreny ? "I know what that is..." I remember thinking but when she asked I couldn't tell her much more that the fact that it is a "digital currency." Now, don't be harsh... I really did think I knew what crypto currency is. I had to take a step back to rebuild that base. Now, three days later and I still won't be able to answer that question if she asked it again. So, here's why I took the time to lay out that story for you... It's their future, #Web3 , and crypto currency is a very important part of this new reality we are creating for them. In 10 years time, we'll probably be sitting on a couch somewhere a pair of spectacles so low on our noses they might fall off, frustrating over some new, Web 3 thing... The question is... How do you introduce them to this new and frankly exciting world? Let's put it to a vote, most liked answer in the comments is how I'll do it.

My friend Lana, a teacher, recently shared with me a discussion from one of her classes. One of her students had asked her "Why is there need for #cryptocurreny ? True to her profession, Lana had done what teachers do when they have no answer at hand, she called it a good question and asked the other students what they thought . P.S Sorry Lana😅. To be fair to my friend, I wouldn't have know what to say. Well, that's not completely true, I would have brought up the point that being #decentralized cryptocurrencies are not controlled by any single entity or government. But is that all cryptocurrencies have to offer? Lana went on to explain to me how her class fell into long discussion about the topic, how the class quickly split into different idea groups at the mention of cryptos' role in sustainability, freedom, financial inclusivity, innovation and much more. Our discussion left me deep in thought, wondering what difference has cryptocurrency brought to our world? What more should we expect to see in the coming decades? So the #question is, why do we really need cryptocurrency? Lana, myself and many more curious minds like her would be happy to know!
