Bitcoin mining in space? This startup will soon take the plunge
Starcloud wants to mine Bitcoin in space As for Bitcoin (BTC) mining, the cost of energy is an important variable that will have an immediate impact on the profitability of a facility. In terms of energy, space is a topic that is gaining more and more importance, particularly due to an abundant solar energy. Moreover, the possibility of deploying in space is also relevant for data center operators, particularly regarding artificial intelligence (AI). With the context set, we can now return to the startup Starcloud, which intends to send about 88,000 satellites into orbit to create a constellation dedicated to AI data centers, but also partly to Bitcoin mining:
Goodbye Bitcoin? A former OpenAI researcher invests 1 billion dollars in BTC miners
Situational Awareness bets 1 billion dollars on the transformation of Bitcoin miners Bitcoin mining companies are currently at a crossroads, with on one side a price of $BTC that no longer allows them to generate sufficient revenue to ensure their sustainability and on the other a sector of AI eager to exploit their infrastructures for the energy capacities it needs to operate. Indeed, mining farms now represent an invaluable asset for these tech giants simply due to their established energy contracts associated with already operational facilities, where building a new data center requires colossal investments and several years of waiting.
$BTC Bitcoin (BTC) is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency designed to function as a medium of exchange independent of central authorities. BTC can be transferred electronically in a secure, verifiable, and immutable manner. Launched in 2009, BTC was the first virtual currency to solve the double-spending problem by timestamping transactions before broadcasting them to all nodes on the Bitcoin network. The Bitcoin protocol offers a solution to the Byzantine Generals' Problem through the structure of a blockchain network, a concept first introduced by Stuart Haber and W. Scott Stornetta in 1991. The Bitcoin white paper was published anonymously in 2008 by an individual, or group, using the pseudonym "Satoshi Nakamoto," whose true identity has never been verified. The Bitcoin protocol uses a Proof-of-Work (PoW) algorithm based on SHA-256d to achieve consensus within the network. Its network has a target block time of 10 minutes and a maximum supply of 21 million tokens, with the token issuance rate declining. To prevent block time fluctuations, an algorithm readjusts the network's block difficulty based on past block times from 2016. The Bitcoin protocol, whose block size is limited to 1 megabyte, relies on both the Lightning Network, a Layer 2 infrastructure for payment channels, and Segregated Witness, a soft fork that increases the number of transactions per block, as solutions for network scalability.

FOGO Project: Bridging Blockchain Innovation with Real-Life Utility
The evolution of blockchain technology has reached a point where speed and speculation are no longer enough. What truly matters now is usability. The #FOGO project represents a new generation of blockchain infrastructure that aims to translate technical power into practical, everyday impact. Instead of focusing solely on token price movements, FOGO emphasizes real-life applications that solve common digital challenges. Imagine a small online business owner in Kasoa trying to accept international payments. Traditional banking systems may delay transactions for days, and fees can quietly eat into profits. With a high-performance blockchain like FOGO, cross-border payments could settle within seconds, with lower fees and transparent tracking. For entrepreneurs, that difference isn’t theoretical — it directly affects cash flow, supplier payments, and growth opportunities. Another real-life example can be seen in gaming ecosystems. Many online games today operate with centralized servers controlling in-game assets. Players spend money on digital items but do not truly own them. If a game shuts down, those purchases disappear. On a blockchain infrastructure such as FOGO, digital assets can be minted as NFTs, giving players verifiable ownership. A gamer who invests time and money into rare collectibles can trade them securely on decentralized marketplaces rather than losing everything due to platform decisions. FOGO’s performance-focused design also supports decentralized finance (DeFi) applications that demand both speed and stability. Consider someone participating in yield farming or decentralized lending. During periods of high congestion on slower networks, transaction delays can cause missed opportunities or even losses. A more scalable network like FOGO reduces that friction. Faster confirmation times mean users can execute strategies more efficiently and with greater confidence. Supply chain management is another area where FOGO’s infrastructure could provide tangible benefits. Think of agricultural exports from Ghana to overseas markets. Blockchain tracking on a reliable network allows each stage — harvesting, packaging, shipping, customs clearance — to be recorded immutably. Buyers abroad can verify the authenticity and origin of goods instantly. This transparency increases trust and can potentially raise product value in international markets. Education and certification verification also benefit from blockchain adoption. Imagine a university issuing digital certificates on the FOGO network. Graduates would no longer need to rely on paper copies or third-party verification agencies. Employers could verify credentials directly on-chain within seconds. This reduces fraud and accelerates hiring processes. Security is another aspect where real-life impact becomes visible. Many blockchain users have experienced smart contract exploits or network instability in the broader crypto ecosystem. By prioritizing structured auditing and robust validation mechanisms, FOGO attempts to minimize these risks. For everyday users, that translates into greater peace of mind when interacting with decentralized applications. Importantly, FOGO’s philosophy appears centered on making blockchain invisible to the end user. Most people do not care about consensus algorithms or throughput metrics — they care about whether a payment goes through quickly, whether their assets are safe, and whether the platform feels intuitive. If FOGO succeeds in optimizing both performance and accessibility, it could help bridge the gap between Web3 enthusiasts and mainstream users. In the broader context of blockchain development, infrastructure projects often determine which ecosystems thrive. While many projects focus on marketing narratives, $FOGO strength lies in engineering discipline. Real-world adoption does not come from hype alone; it comes from reliability, efficiency, and practical solutions.# As blockchain technology matures, the winners will likely be those that enable seamless integration into daily life. Whether supporting entrepreneurs, gamers, exporters, students, or decentralized finance participants, FOGO’s infrastructure-driven model reflects a shift toward utility. And in the long run, utility is what sustains innovation. @fogo
