In my personal opinion, if L2 had not appeared, Ethereum would have collapsed long ago! I have always believed that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are taking two completely different routes.

The Bitcoin faction is quite evil. I have joined a Bitcoin religious community before. In their eyes, everything is garbage.
However, Ethereum is very different. Ethereum has the most mature and huge ecosystem in the blockchain.
From the perspective of its purpose, Ethereum is to serve more people, and to serve more people, it must have greater bandwidth. Without bandwidth, everything is empty talk.
In other words, if L2 had not been born, Ethereum might have collapsed by now.
Nowadays, a large number of transactions in the Ethereum ecosystem have been transferred to the L2 section, and even many newcomers in the Ethereum community have joined the Ethereum community through the L2 section.
Ethereum is a technology-focused currency. When the technology lags behind, many projects will naturally flee from Ethereum. Perhaps everyone does not know that this year is the year with the most frequent quarrels in the Ethereum community. The technical bottleneck has caused the L2 construction to fail to meet everyone's expectations.
It is not ruled out that there will be some cases like the DYDX project that will leave Ethereum in the future.
In the L2 sector, ARB is currently the fastest growing, and its fully circulated market value is only more than 10 billion US dollars, which is not a high market value.
It's just that big funds are currently waiting for the Ethereum ETF to pass. I think the rising market may start in advance before the expectation is realized. Once it rises, L2 will definitely keep up in parallel. Three or five times the space should not be a problem. After all, L2 has gathered more than 85% of Ethereum's transaction volume.
