According to Thai media reports, on the evening of May 28, the police searched a three-story commercial building in the city center of Khun Phaen Road, Suphan Buri Province. The building was a package delivery store. The building's electricity meter was illegally tampered with and used royal electricity to mine Bitcoin. Through preliminary inspections, the police seized Bitcoin mining equipment, wires, network cables, and more than 12 ventilation fans. Initially, no Bitcoin mining machines were found. The police learned that before the inspection, the Bitcoin mining equipment had been packaged and sent to the Suphan Buri Post Office Branch. The police and the power department subsequently inspected and found 12 Bitcoin mining machines worth millions of baht.

The building's electricity meter illegally uses royal electricity. The duration of the illegal use of electricity cannot be determined at present, but preliminary calculations show that 33,120 kWh of electricity was used in one month, with a cost of 7 baht per kWh, equivalent to about 230,000 baht per month. This time, the operator must bear the fine for violating the regulations and will be held criminally liable in accordance with the law.

Mr. Saroj, manager of the Suphan Buri Electricity Bureau, revealed that after investigation, it was found that there were indeed cases of illegal electricity use such as using electricity for Bitcoin mining by modifying meters.

Here, we remind the building owners to check the electricity meter regularly to see if the tenants have violated the electricity usage regulations. If the tenants violate the electricity usage regulations, the building owners shall also be responsible for such behavior. #新币挖矿 #矿机
