A wise person knows that only by gaining freedom can one be truly happy. He will never covet any external things and be able to follow his heart at ease, thus avoiding conflicts and achieving truth in all places. On the contrary, if one does not have wisdom, he will become greedy when encountering favorable circumstances and angry when encountering unfavorable circumstances. Then he will inevitably be attracted and bound by external things, and ultimately become a kind of object. The mind is the form and meaning, and can speak. As the scriptures say, if one can transform things, he will be the same as Tathagata. Only when the mind is not affected by external circumstances can one be said to be truly free. If one can transform all things with the mind, then this is a true great achievement.
