RUNE, or “Runas” in Spanish, is a token standard on Bitcoin that facilitates the creation and transaction of fungible tokens on this network. That is, it is a protocol similar to Ethereum's ERC-20 or Bitcoin's BCR-20, which allows developers and users to generate stablecoins, memecoins or other assets representative of decentralized finance (#DeFi ). In the particular case of RUNE, this standard has been created based on the functions and elements of the Bitcoin network - such as UTXOs - to optimize the registration and operations with these tokens.
