The decentralized identity protocol .bit announced that it will soon undergo a major technical upgrade to be compatible with the RGB++ protocol, making .bit an asset running on the Bitcoin layer. Currently, .bit already supports the parsing and binding of Bitcoin addresses, enabling direct transfer of assets including Bitcoin and RGB++, and supports the registration, ownership and management of Bitcoin, Ethereum and other addresses such as BNB and Polygon. RGB++ is an extension protocol based on RGB, which maps Bitcoin UTXO to the Cell of Nervos CKB through isomorphic binding, bringing Turing-complete contract extensions and performance extensions to Bitcoin without cross-chain and without loss of security.
