BlockBeats news, on March 27, CoinDesk reported that according to court documents, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has asked a New York judge to impose a $1.95 billion fine on Ripple Labs. On Monday, Ripple Labs chief legal officer Stuart Alderoty posted on social media that the SEC was seeking such a fine and said a redacted version of the court filing would be made public on March 26. The SEC’s proposal asks the court to order Ripple Labs to pay $876 million in proceeds from the breach, $198 million in prejudgment interest and $876 million in civil penalties, for a total of $1.95 billion.
