Tether announced a “recovery” feature that allows USDT to be transferred between blockchains during failures. This is reported on the company's website:
"USDT exists independently of blockchains, which are used only as transport
level. This allows #Tether to work on multiple blockchains and allows Tether customers to choose from nearly 15 blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Tron and Tezos. This widespread adoption underscores Tether's commitment to interoperability and accessibility.
To eliminate the risk that the blockchain may become unresponsive, unreliable, or unusable, Tether has created an official recovery tool that can transfer USDT between blockchains."
After verifying wallet ownership on the broken blockchain, users will be able to receive their USDT on another network. Support for popular wallets with browser extensions and hardware wallets such as#Ledgeror#Trezoris available for this process. Additionally, the command line interface allows users to directly enter their private key, allowing them to sign the required message using an open source script on their local computer.
Considering the huge share of#USDTin one network (#Tron), this is a very necessary function that will avoid panic in case of possible problems with Justin Sun and his blockchain.
