A total of more than 3.98 million Tether coins and 100 Ethereum coins were received from the victim’s friends. In addition, Su Moumou and others also took the initiative and "borrowed" 100,000 Tether coins from another friend of his, pretending to be Mr. Xu.
The procuratorial organ determined that He Moumou used virtual currency to cash out a total of 28 million yuan.
After the incident, the public security agency recovered some virtual coins by freezing the receiving account.He Moumou took the initiative to compensate Mr. Xu 15 million yuan and was forgiven by the other party. Other defendants also refunded their illegal gains in full and compensated the victims for their losses.
The case was prosecuted by the Jiangbei Procuratorate. The court recently sentenced the accomplice Su Moumou to four years and ten months in prison for the crime of theft.
