AIP1 was originally a ratification, not a request.
The Arbitrum Foundation did not sell 50 million $ARB tokens and the rationale for the initial distribution of 750 million $ARB was outlined on the forum. Regarding the transfer of 50 million $ARB tokens: 40 million $ARB tokens were allocated as a loan to an experienced participant in the financial markets. The remaining 10 million were converted into fiat and used for operating expenses.
