Every cycle, coins that are considered the next generation appear and even make it into the top 20, then a few years later no one talks about them anymore. Those great things eventually disappeared and never came back.
Some examples:
NEO - Hit ATH at $196.85 (5 years ago, in January 2018). At that time it was in the top 8. Now it is $10.13 (ranked 62nd). Known as “China’s Ethereum” built on the “smart economy” has attracted interest from giants like Alibaba and Microsoft. Now it's just a memory...
EOS - Was in the top 9 with a market cap of $8.3 billion in January 2018. People said it had huge upside potential in the future and should be in every investor's portfolio private, with the ability to carry out millions of transactions per second. In the end it completely failed
ICON - "Korean Ethereum", with world hyperconnectivity, powered by Loopchain, a high-performance enterprise blockchain with smart contract features. Once in the top 15, it has also been forgotten
BCH - Bitcoin Cash promoted by Bitcoin Jesus Roger Vers. Once in the top 4! Currently, no one cares
BTG - Bitcoin Gold, same fate and even worse than BCH
IOTA - Formerly in the top 10, designed for the "Internet of Things", more scalable than blockchain-based distributed ledgers. IOTA has been targeted by scam organizations and has had to shut down multiple times. Now there's nothing more to say.
NEM - Once in the top 7
QTUM - As above
LISK - As above
DASH - Once thought to be a rival to Monero. Now forgotten
BitConnect - This probably goes without saying =)))
NANO - Has been highly appreciated for being fast and environmentally friendly.
Top 20 back in January 2018 (about 5 years ago):
This cycle we have another BitConnect, LUNA. It just refuses to die and instead continues to struggle to absorb liquidity.
Current top 20:
Top 1-5: BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, USDC
Top 6-10: XRP, ADA, MATIC, DOGE, BUSD
Top 11-15: SUN, DOT, DEATH, SHIB, THRONE
Top 16-20: LTC, AVAX, UNI, LEO, LINK
Regarding the current cycle, which tokens do you think will disappear in the next 3 years?
