CESS (Cumulus Encrypted Storage System) announced at the end of December 2023 that its Series A financing has been successfully completed, with a total financing amount of up to 8 million US dollars. This round of financing was jointly participated by well-known investment institutions such as HTX Venture, Infinity Ventures Crypto, DWF Labs, and Mentha Partners. CESS has demonstrated to the industry and investors its firm strength and innovative spirit in building decentralized cloud storage and CDN under the DePIN track, and is committed to building a data value network in which developers, creators, merchants, platforms, and consumers participate.
The CESS team was officially established in 2019. In the process of moving towards the goal of data value network, it first built decentralized storage and CDN infrastructure available in the industry, realized online data storage and real-time sharing, provided large-scale commercial storage for Web2 and Web3 enterprises and organizations, and provided full-stack solutions for the storage and retrieval of high-frequency dynamic data in Web3. In the past five years, CESS has actively contributed to the DePIN field, and has made great progress in its own technology, ecology and community. Through in-depth exploration and construction of blockchain technology, CESS has achieved milestones one after another.
We believe that CESS has unlimited potential and is unstoppable! 2024 will be the year when CESS shines brighter and brings more significant technological innovation and contribution to the industry. It is also the year when CESS gains wide recognition with the consensus of community members and ecological users. This is because— — In 2024, CESS will reach the important milestone of mainnet launch!
Today, we officially launch the "CESS Community Co-Builder Program" and sincerely invite everyone to participate in the early network construction of CESS, help CESS gain more attention and recognition before the mainnet goes online, become an early contributor to CESS, and enjoy more community rewards and benefits!

What is the CESS Community Co-Builder Program?
——Everyone can participate, participation is rewarded, invitations can get higher rewards
The "CESS Community Co-builder Program" is a special program for inviting storage nodes. It aims to encourage more node operators to co-build the CESS network and share early dividends by inviting whitelist users through the community. Participants can become inviters and generate invitation links by submitting their CESS account addresses (starting with cX...) through the official website. They can then use the links to invite potential storage node operators on the main network to become whitelist users.
If the whitelist address becomes an official storage node after the CESS mainnet is launched, the inviter will receive more $CESS rewards, and the reward amount is positively correlated with the number of storage miners staked by the invitee, with no upper limit! The whitelist address through this plan will directly obtain the 180-day right to use the mainnet 1T storage node staked coin. After the mainnet is launched, this right can be used to run the storage node without purchasing $CESS. Please note: The number of whitelists is limited to 100,000, first come first served!
If you have seen the opportunity now, please hurry up and sign up to participate. The final super reward amount will be jointly determined by you and the storage nodes you invite, achieving a win-win situation!
The core role of storage nodes in the CESS network
The core component of the CESS data value network is the storage node, which plays a vital role in the network. The primary task of the storage node is to store user data persistently on disk, while providing users with basic data download services. To ensure the effective use of storage space across the entire network, the storage node declares available storage space to the CESS network through space authentication. To ensure the authenticity and availability of user files and storage space, storage nodes accept random challenges from the CESS network from time to time, which is a key link in maintaining the robust operation of the network and receive $CESS rewards for their contributions to the network. In addition, storage nodes also need to maintain the integrity of user data. When data is lost, they need to actively participate in the data recovery mechanism to ensure timely retrieval of data and avoid potential penalties.
In the past five years, CESS and the community's miners have completed 11 rounds of testnet upgrades and iterations. One of the testnet versions attracted more than 6,300 nodes to build together, and now more than 40,000 nodes have participated in the test. The ongoing testnet v0.7.5 has nearly a thousand storage nodes joining, providing up to 6+ PiB of storage capacity (1PiB of capacity is about 200 million photos or 200 million songs. If an individual listens to these songs continuously, he can listen to them for 1900 years.)
In general, storage nodes are not only the cornerstone of data storage in the CESS data value network, but also the key guarantee of network robustness and user experience. Therefore, storage nodes contribute an indispensable force to building a safe, efficient and reliable decentralized storage ecosystem. Participants who successfully invite storage nodes through the "CESS Community Co-Builder Program" and the storage nodes themselves will receive generous rewards. This will be a rare opportunity to participate before the launch of the CESS mainnet!
