The number of Americans continuing to apply for unemployment benefits in the week of February 18 was 1.655 million, lower than the expected 1.665 million and higher than the previous value of 1.654 million. After the data was released, the market debated whether the Federal Reserve would resume raising interest rates by 50 basis points this month. The probability of raising interest rates by 50 basis points in March rose to 30.6%.
