PANews, May 30 - According to an official announcement, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand will block unlicensed digital asset trading platforms such as Bybit, 1000X, CoinEx, OKX, and XT.COM starting from June 28, 2025, based on the Royal Decree on Technology Crime Prevention and Suppression (Version 2) of 2025. The regulatory authority stated that after an investigation, the aforementioned platforms are suspected of operating without a license in violation of the Royal Decree on Digital Assets Business of 2018, and the case has been referred to the Economic Crime Suppression Division for handling. This measure aims to protect investors and curb illegal platforms from becoming channels for money laundering, and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society will implement the network blockade. Thailand continues to tighten cryptocurrency regulations, having added enforcement powers under the Technology Crime Prevention and Suppression Act in April 2025.
