The lawyer wants to reveal the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto through the court

American lawyer James Murphy has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He demands the release of documents confirming that the agency allegedly met with Satoshi Nakamoto — the creator of Bitcoin.

According to Murphy, at a conference in 2019, DHS agent Rana Saud stated that their employees had personally spoken with Nakamoto in California and learned that he was assisted by three other people. Now the lawyer wants access to all records and correspondence related to this interview.

He acknowledges that the agent could have been mistaken. But if the documents do indeed exist, James intends to fight for their disclosure to the end.

His actions have been received negatively in the crypto community. Revealing the identity of Satoshi, who is estimated to own over 968,000 BTC (~$74.4 billion), could harm not only him but the entire blockchain industry.

"By trying to reveal Satoshi's identity, you look like a clown craving attention," says blockchain investigator ZachXBT.

Do you think we should know Satoshi’s identity?
