Who can tell me, what exactly is XRP? How has it survived for so many years by selling coins? And why was it specifically chosen by Trump as a strategic reserve?
I must say, XRP is truly a peculiar coin; it doesn’t seem to have any utility, nor does it have much of an ecosystem. For so many years, it has steadily occupied a top position in cryptocurrency market capitalization. The team and founders have been continuously selling coins to make a living, and astonishingly, the more they sell, the stronger it gets, with buyers always stepping in. According to 0xTodd, a partner at Wuwei Capital and a crypto KOL, who posted on platform X, the company behind Ripple, Ripple Labs, initially owned all 100 billion XRP tokens. Its token economic model has no mining, no ICO, no distribution, no token economy, and definitely no 3,3 model; it’s simply and bluntly “80% belongs to the company; 20% belongs to the founder.” In 2017, this project self-locked 55 billion XRP and agreed to sell a maximum of 1 billion tokens per month, continuing to sell tokens to this day. The founder has admitted that the company’s annual profits are extremely high, and the source is selling coins.

According to crypto analyst Miles Deutscher, who posted on platform X, XRP holding whales are selling tokens at record levels. Since the price increase of over 500% in November 2024, large holders have been actively selling, and XRP seems to be in a large distribution phase. Based on the Crypto Quant data shared in his post, the 90-day moving average of XRP shows that the recent daily dumping volume by XRP whales has reached around 120 million to 180 million USD.
