The first crypto to introduce Proof-of-Stake (PoS) as an alternative to PoW.
Main goal: to overcome the high energy consumption that occurs in the PoW mechanism.
5. Ripple (XRP) – 2012
Developed by Ripple Labs for fast and cheap cross-border transactions.
Unlike most cryptos, XRP does not rely on mining.
Main goal: to become a global payment solution for banks & financial companies.
