Kazakhstan will reduce electricity payments for miners from January 1, 2024. If previously the payment rate for digital mining for the consumption of 1 kilowatt/hour of electricity was 26 tenge, then from January 1, 2024, the payment for 1 kilowatt/hour of electricity during mining will be fixed at 2 tenge. The payment rate for digital mining for the consumption of 1 kilowatt/hour of electricity when using its own generating capacities, which was previously 10 tenge, has been revised to 1 tenge. Crypto exchanges registered in Kazakhstan are now exempt from paying value added tax (VAT) on transactions with digital assets.
