#CryptoUsersHit18M According to the Federal Reserve's most recent annual household survey, the number of American adults who reported owning or using cryptocurrency fell to about 18 million last year. According to the Fed's Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking (SHED), released on May 21, only 7% of U.S. adults surveyed said they used cryptocurrency in the 12 months before to October of last year, compared to 10% in 2022 and 12% in 2021. While 7% of adults bought or stored cryptocurrency as an investment, only 1% reported using it as a payment method or to send money, a decrease of half from 2022. Nearly 30% of people who used cryptocurrency for financial transactions did so because the recipient liked it.
