In his speech at the opening ceremony, Zhang Yunming, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that by the end of October 2024, the total number of 5G base stations in our country would reach 4.141 million, with 29 5G base stations per 10,000 people, achieving the '14th Five-Year' development goal ahead of schedule. A report from the Global System for Mobile Communications Association shows that in 2023, China's mobile ecosystem represented by 5G created approximately 8 million jobs. According to calculations by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the commercial use of 5G over the past five years has directly driven a total economic output of about 5.6 trillion yuan and indirectly driven about 14 trillion yuan.
