Worse than Window 98! Musk blasts U.S. government computer equipment and will introduce blockchain to improve efficiency
Elon Musk tweeted on December 9 that the U.S. government’s computer systems were so outdated that they could not pass basic audits, and declared that he would serve as a “volunteer IT consultant” to assist the Trump administration in reforming the system. He said that just because the government did not upgrade hardware and technology, a lot of taxpayers' money was wasted and efficiency was extremely poor.
Blaming government computer equipment as 'worse than Windows 98'
Musk said that the current U.S. government’s computer and software systems are simply too old to “be able to tell whether a payment involves fraud or abuse,” leading to unidentified tax flows. He satirized the government: "This is why the U.S. government can't pass basic audits. They often don't know where people's tax dollars are being spent. It's crazy."
