Interest in Bitcoin futures on the CME has surpassed 40,000 contracts for the first time in history.

Since the beginning of the year, the total number of open contracts for Bitcoin has doubled. To put that into perspective, open interest in November 2021 was down 58%, at around 17,000 contracts.

This comes at a time when Bitcoin’s market cap has hit a record high of $1.94 trillion.
