Former President Trump won the U.S. presidential election, and Musk also struck gold.
On Friday, Tesla's stock price surged 8%, pushing its market value back above the $1 trillion mark, and this momentum also spurred growth in the cryptocurrency market. Within just three days, Musk's personal wealth increased by $50 billion.
What awaits Trump and Musk is an impending war, an intense confrontation between new and old aristocratic forces, which could even lead to another civil war.
01 The truth behind supporting Trump
Musk once supported the Democratic Party, but this time he is all-in on Trump, just because the Democratic Party turned his son into a daughter?
Moreover, the Republican Party represented by Trump has long been regarded as the spokesperson for the traditional energy industry and is not enthusiastic about electric vehicles. A poll in 2023 showed that about 71% of Republicans indicated they would not consider purchasing electric vehicles, while the proportion among Democrats was only 17%.
In a presidential nomination speech in July this year, Trump declared he would 'end electric vehicles and save the American automotive industry that is heading for complete destruction.'
In contrast, the Biden administration has been actively supporting the new energy industry, aiming for at least half of new car sales in the U.S. to be new energy models by 2030. The government not only funds the construction of public charging networks but also provides tax credits for electric vehicle buyers through the Inflation Reduction Act.
No matter how you look at it, this completely aligns with the interests of electric vehicle king Musk; however, a key turning point occurred in 2021.
At the electric vehicle summit in August 2021, President Biden invited the three major American automakers—Ford, GM, and Chrysler—but did not invite Tesla, even though Tesla occupies more than half of the U.S. electric vehicle market.
Biden stated at the meeting that it was Detroit that led the global electric vehicle development, and that General Motors was the one driving the electrification of the entire industry, claiming they are the true leaders.
Tesla was also excluded from the new energy subsidy list, which marginalized Musk.
The White House explained that Tesla was not invited because it does not have a union, which is completely contrary to the Democratic Party's position of supporting unions.
Musk firmly believes that unions only bring trouble to businesses and consume corporate resources. He argues that the impact on American industry is precisely due to the existence of unions. The White House stated that Biden had suggested Musk establish a union, but Musk firmly refused.
Biden's considerations are actually quite simple; the American automotive industry is almost the last manufacturing sector remaining in the country, involving millions of jobs, and its mainstay is the United Auto Workers. This organization holds immense influence, capable of swaying millions of votes. At the end of last year, the auto union organized a large-scale strike, demanding a 40% pay raise and only working four days a week. In the face of such demands, GM stated it could not bear it, but the union insisted that they would not return to work unless their salary concerns were addressed.
To win votes, Biden unhesitatingly stood on the side of auto workers. Musk's refusal of unions effectively severed ties with the United Auto Workers, thus completely opposing the Democratic Party.
This is also one of the reasons for Musk's break with the Democratic Party. Another important reason is that as a representative of the new generation of the military-industrial complex, Musk feels he has not received the full support of the U.S. government.
Although 70% of the world's satellites are launched by Musk's SpaceX, in NASA's orders and government procurement projects, SpaceX has received less than one-third of Boeing's orders, and Boeing has also been underperforming with frequent accidents, resulting in four astronauts from the U.S. and Russia being stranded in space for eight months unable to return to Earth.
This has also made Musk extremely imbalanced, expressing on multiple occasions his sense of loss regarding his contributions to America, believing that what he has done far exceeds Boeing.
02 Trump, who can't fit into the circle
Although Trump is a billionaire, he is considered a non-mainstream figure in the top billionaire circle. He wants to enter the upper capital circle of America but has repeatedly faced setbacks.
Not only because the Trump family comes from a contracting background and is not well-regarded in the wealthy circle, but also because their business model does not primarily revolve around capital manipulation. Additionally, Trump's own personality makes it difficult for him to get along with others, which is why he has always been an outsider in the social circles of America's top billionaires. This is also one reason why he struggles to win the support of those top financial groups and middle-upper class, forcing him to strive hard for grassroots votes.
In 2016, Trump's campaign received support from military-industrial complex bigwigs, and during his presidency, he made tangible returns, not only increasing the military budget but also securing a trillion-dollar order from Saudi Arabia by selling panic and pre-selling equipment for the next ten years, totaling $350 billion, making the military-industrial complex in the U.S. profit immensely.
Although during his term he publicly supported the military multiple times and tried to strengthen ties, the military consistently paid lip service to his requests. For instance, his proposed withdrawal plan from Afghanistan and his desire to use the military to quell domestic unrest faced resistance from the military.
During Biden's presidency, Trump faced frequent crackdowns and suppression, with his assets shrinking to three-quarters, falling out of the top 500 billionaires, which intensified the rift between him and the military representing traditional forces.
03 Non-mainstream strong cooperation
Today in America, it seems like a family business firmly controlled by deeply entrenched traditional forces.
The military-industrial complex, Wall Street financial tycoons, Jewish financial magnates, the Illuminati, medical groups, and many other behind-the-scenes forces quietly manipulate the entire United States. They are the core forces of America's traditional aristocracy.
They are both the guardians of vested interests and the rule-makers.
Since Trump is not a member of this circle, he cannot fully represent the will of these behind-the-scenes forces.
Similarly, tech moguls like Musk, Bezos, and Cook represent emerging forces that, even with vast wealth, cannot integrate into the entrenched interest groups. Traditional forces look down on them and are even less willing to share a dime with them. No matter how impressive Musk's Starlink is, the project still belongs to Boeing.
This led to the two figures, Musk and Trump, who are not accepted by the mainstream, ultimately choosing to join forces.
Previously, Trump promised that if elected, he would clear the military and appoint Musk as the chairman of the Government Efficiency Committee. Musk has also stated that he could cut at least $2 trillion from the $6.75 trillion federal budget.
Don't say cutting 2 trillion, even if it's just 100 billion less, it would be enough to cause a bloody storm.
If these really come to fruition, there will inevitably be a life-and-death struggle between the emerging forces represented by Trump and Musk and the old forces represented by Gates, Buffett, and Soros, differing only in scale.
