Golden Finance reported that within a few hours of voting opening on Election Day in the United States, technical problems occurred in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, and electronic voting machines malfunctioned and could not scan ballots. Cambria County, located near Pittsburgh, cast 68% of its votes for Trump and 31% for Biden in the 2020 election. In response, the Cambria County Election Commission sought a court order to extend voting hours until 10 p.m. Eastern Time (11 a.m. Wednesday Beijing Time). Officials assured the public that all voters would be taken care of and instructed them to submit paper ballots until the electronic scanner problem was resolved. In addition, according to CNN, counting machines in multiple constituencies in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, had problems in the early hours of Tuesday local time, but people were still able to vote.
