Startup Etched, together with Decart, presented a demo version of the 'first working game created by artificial intelligence.'

Oasis is a clone of Minecraft, it generates a map based on keyboard presses. Players can move around the world, build or destroy terrain.

AI is used to create 'every pixel in real time without using a game engine.' For example, when the forward button is pressed, the neural network will start replicating the character's movement. The functionality of the solution resembles real-time video generation adjusted for user actions.

According to a review by YouTube blogger Phoenix SC, the beta version of the game runs at 360p with freezes, visual artifacts, and poor key press response.

'Gameplay is just the beginning. Soon, most of the internet will be generated by AI, and over 70% of internet traffic will be video,' noted the developers.

The demo version of Oasis was created using Nvidia H100 graphics processors. Etched is developing its own Sohu chipset, which is 'several times faster.'

'Sohu is designed for processing large video models operating in 4K format for neural networks with more than 100 billion parameters,' emphasized the project team.

In August, Chinese online game publisher Kunlun Tech launched an AI-based tool for creating short dramas.
