- Democratic US presidential candidate Kamala Harris is losing ground to Republican candidate Donald Trump

Al Jazeera reported that Kamala Harris's defeat was recorded with less than a month to go until the US presidential election.

According to three polls released on October 13, Kamala Harris' lead over Donald Trump has narrowed or disappeared completely as the race for the White House approaches its final stretch.

The latest NBC News poll shows Harris and Trump tied nationally at 48% ahead of the Nov. 5 vote. Harris led Trump by 5 points in a poll last month.

According to another ABC News/Ipsos poll, Ms. Harris received 50% support compared to Mr. Trump's 48% among likely voters, while the CBS News/YouGov poll showed the results at 51% and 48%, respectively.

Additionally, Ms. Harris now leads Mr. Trump by just 1.4 percentage points in Real Clear Polling's overall primary poll, down from 2.2 percentage points two days ago.

Democrats are concerned that Harris is failing to consolidate support among Hispanics and African Americans, two of the party's key voting groups, Al Jazeera reported.

In polls released by The New York Times/Siena College on October 12 and 13, Ms. Harris attracted the support of 78% of black voters and 56% of Hispanic voters, significantly lower than the Democratic candidates won in the 2020 and 2016 presidential elections.

Last week, former President Barack Obama criticized black men for not showing the same enthusiasm for Harris' candidacy that he received during his campaigns in 2008 and 2012.

"You give all kinds of reasons and excuses. I don't buy it," Obama said at a campaign event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of seven key battleground states expected to decide this year's election.

Ms. Harris and Mr. Trump are continuing to focus their campaigns in battleground states, holding events in North Carolina and Arizona, respectively.
