A Moscow court arrested a 35-year-old man who stole $670 thousand in USDT stablecoin under the guise of attracting investments in an NFT project, news publications report.
According to the victim, he met the accused at a business meeting, at which he invited him to invest a large sum of money in the works of a famous artist based on NFT. The investor planned to make money by reselling digital art in the future.
Communication between partners took place in the messenger, where, among other things, information about transactions was published. After receiving the money, the swindler stopped communicating. Investigators are looking into the arresteeâs involvement in similar fraudulent activities.
