Tokyo-listed investment firm MetaPlant announced today, Tuesday, that it has acquired about 107.91 additional bitcoins, worth up to 1 billion yen (about $7 million), and that this operation comes after the Japanese company purchased about 300 million yen worth of bitcoin last month.
MetaPlant explained that the latest purchase of bitcoin brings the company's total holdings to about 506 bitcoins (equivalent to about $32 million), at current bitcoin prices.
It is noteworthy that since revealing its bitcoin strategy, MetaPlant has not gone a month without acquiring more digital currencies, regardless of the recent decline in the bitcoin market, as the company believes that its strategy will give local investors exposure and help them benefit from favorable tax treatment.
