Christie’s London plans to auction a dynamic Bitcoin Ordinals artwork, titled “Ascend,” for the first time at its Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale on October 10. Created by artists Ryan Koopmans and Alice Wexell, the work is part of the “The Wild Within” project and recreates architectural ruins through digital media. Set in the Iveria Sanatorium in Tskaltubo, Georgia, the work uses innovative recursive coding techniques to achieve a dynamic effect that switches between day and night modes based on actual time.
“Ascend” is inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain using the Ordinals protocol, switching between day and night modes, reflecting the real time of the Georgian sanatorium in the real world through a 30-minute conversion process.
