Binance founder Zhao Changpeng's release date is two days earlier than expected. According to Fortune magazine, he will be released from prison on September 27 instead of the originally scheduled September 29. This may be because the prison does not arrange the normal release of prisoners on weekends, so it will be advanced to the nearest working day. Zhao Changpeng's lawyer has stated that he does not want to be interviewed on the day of his release.

During his sentence, Zhao Changpeng was transferred to the Long Beach Residence Reintegration Management (RRM) in Central California.

Zhao Changpeng was sentenced to four months in prison by a federal court in Seattle in April for failing to implement an effective anti-money laundering framework, which made Binance a viable platform for cybercrime. He and Binance reached an agreement with the US Department of Justice. Binance pleaded guilty and agreed to pay a fine of US$4.3 billion; Zhao Changpeng admitted to violating US anti-money laundering laws and agreed to pay a fine of US$50 million and resign as CEO.

Zhao Changpeng's release may have an impact on the Binance exchange and its platform token $BNB . While he was in prison, the price of Binance's platform token $BNB experienced volatility, from a brief drop after his imprisonment to a volatile rise and fall later.

After Zhao Changpeng was released from prison, he had to resign as Binance CEO and stay away from the company's "day-to-day" activities under the terms of his criminal settlement. However, he remains the company's largest shareholder, which means he may still have a significant influence on the company's future direction.
