The Open Network (TON) has seen strong growth in on-chain metrics in 2024, with transaction volume, total value locked, active users, and daily transaction count all increasing significantly.

According to data from Artemis, the average daily trading volume on TON’s decentralized exchanges (DEXs) increased from just over $2 million to $17.2 million in September, representing a 760% year-to-date growth.

The Explosion of On-Chain Metrics

Artemis data shows a remarkable growth in key network metrics throughout 2024. The number of daily active addresses on TON increased from 26,274 in January to 902,737 in September, marking a 3,435% year-to-date growth.

At the same time, the number of daily transactions also skyrocketed, increasing 12-fold from 232,286 in January to 2,823,801 in September.

Notably, user confidence in the network has also increased this year, with the total value locked (TVL) on the network reaching $741.3 million in September, up from around $76 million at the beginning of the year, representing an eight-fold increase.

Additionally, a recent research report by Bitget indicates that the increase in activity has boosted the network’s revenue from transaction fees. User spending on transaction fees is around $75,000 per day, contributing around $37,500 daily to TON blockchain validators.

On-chain gaming activities

TON has established itself as a leading network for on-chain gaming. A September 12 report by DappRadar revealed that TON is the 6th largest blockchain for gaming, with an average of 177,000 unique daily active wallets (UAW) in August.

The report also highlights a correlation between countries with large Telegram users and TON usage, with Russia accounting for a large portion of activity on the network thanks to its 35 million Telegram users.

Additionally, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region also shows strong engagement with TON’s decentralized applications (dApps), with Belarus, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan among the top 10 countries with the most interactions with Notcoin.

South Asian countries and developing countries like Brazil, Vietnam and Nigeria also recorded significant participation, especially in projects offering free token rewards.
