According to CryptoSlate, Sony's Ethereum Layer-2 network Soneium announced on September 12 that it would join Chainlink's Scale program. The partnership will provide Chainlink's data feed service for Soneium's Minato testnet and adopt Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its standard cross-chain infrastructure.

Chainlink's data feed provides decentralized off-chain data for smart contracts, which is particularly suitable for DeFi application scenarios. CCIP will enable seamless interoperability between Soneium and other blockchains, and promote the integration of Web3 with traditional systems. In the past year, CCIP technology has been adopted by many traditional institutions, including Korean gaming giant Wemade.

Soneium said: “Leveraging Chainlink’s proven infrastructure, which has supported over $15 trillion in transaction value, we ensure that Soneium Minato can handle high volumes of traffic, support complex applications, and provide a smooth onboarding experience for all users.”
